Privacy & Data Protection
At Myriad Seas, your privacy is of the utmost importance. We are committed to protecting your personal information with the same care and attention we give to every detail of your stay in our family-founded hideaway in Pesada, Kefalonia.
What personal data we collect and why
Comments
When visitors leave comments on the site, we collect the data shown in the comments form, along with the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help with spam detection.
An anonymised string created from your email address (also known as a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to check whether you are using it. The Gravatar service’s Privacy Policy is available here. Once your comment is approved, your profile picture will be visible to the public in the context of your comment.
Media
If you upload images to the website, we strongly recommend avoiding images that contain embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Visitors to the site can download and extract any location data from images uploaded to the website.
Contact forms
When you submit a contact or enquiry form, we collect the information you provide so we can respond promptly and personally to your request.
Cookies
If you leave a comment on our site, you may opt in to saving your name, email address, and website in cookies. These cookies are for your convenience, so you do not have to re-enter your details when leaving another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
If you visit our login page, we set a temporary cookie to determine whether your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, we also set several cookies to save your login information and your screen display preferences. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for one year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. When you log out, the login cookies are removed.
If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie is saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you have just edited. It expires after one day.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (such as videos, images, or articles). Embedded content from other websites behaves exactly as if you had visited the other website.
These websites may collect data about you, use their own cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content — including tracking your interaction if you are logged into an account on that website.
Analytics
We use analytics tools to help us understand how visitors interact with our website, so we can continually improve your experience.
Who we share your data with
We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes. Any sharing is limited to the essential service providers outlined in this policy (such as spam detection services) and is done strictly in accordance with applicable data protection laws.
How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its associated metadata are retained indefinitely. This allows us to recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically rather than holding them in a moderation queue.
For users who register on our website (if applicable), we store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All registered users can view, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also view and edit this information.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site or have left comments, you may request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. Please note that this does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security reasons.
Where we send your data
Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service
